Product introduction
Vortex springs are used as compression springs and are made of flat material coiled into a worm shell shape. The coils of the material overlap each other and guide each other radially during compression, thus giving volute springs a flexural stability that cannot be achieved with conventional compression springs.
With volute springs, shorter installation lengths can be achieved than with compression springs. This depends entirely on the forces applied and the dimensions.
Pot coil springs are commonly used in garden pruning shears and railroad buffers.
