Torsion bar springs are a good alternative to clock springs or helical torsion springs in applications where rotational torque is required, when radial space at the spring mounting location is limited and axial space is plentiful.
The active part of a torsion bar is a straight wire with a circular cross section.
The ends are designed to allow for torque.
