Multi-coil wave springs are springs made of flat wire rolled into a spiral shape while the coils are wave-shaped. When the spring is compressed, the waveform is flattened, thus creating a relationship between force and deformation degree. Thus, the function is like that of a spiral-shaped leaf spring.
Wave springs are ideal for applications where the installation length is small. For small strokes, multi-wire wave springs are shorter than conventional helical compression springs. Installation lengths can also be reduced by up to 50% to meet certain requirements.
